‘Do what I say, not do what I do’ department

I encourage my clients who blog to blog often. It’s a good idea, as long as the quality doesn’t falter, of course
I’ve just failed to post for almost a whole month owing to extreme busyness. My apologies.
Let’s hope I can get properly back on stream again.

Number 1 on Google.co.uk for ‘SEO copywriting blog’

May I blow my own trumpet a little?
I’ve just noticed that Dangerous Thinking is No 1 on Google.co.uk (Web) for SEO copywriting blog.

Can I lay claim to Dangerous Thinking being the top blog on SEO Copywriting in this country?

FeedBurner PRO stats are now free

Not a huge surprise following Google’s takeover of FeedBurner, but very welcome nonetheless. Google has made the full FeedBurner PRO stats package available for free to everyone.
I use FeedBurner on my blogs as well as our clients’, where I see its strengths more as a promotional tool than a stats package. Yet, of course, there [...]

Someone trying to sell you a bespoke blogging application for your site?

From time to time we see sites that have bespoke blogs. Indeed, for many reasons that I shan’t go into here (profit?), suppliers of Web sites often offer their client a bespoke blogging application.
While in some cases, such a solution may integrate better with the rest of the site, the leading blogging platforms such as [...]

Where should you put your blog?

Most people are aware these days that a blog can do some good things SEO-wise for a site.
Written properly, with interesting and valuable content, a blog can be magnet for relevant incoming links. Make no mistake, these are very valuable.
So, how do you best support your corporate or e-commerce site with a blog?:

My new blog - nicheing my online presence

As I continue to sort out my presence online, I’ve peeled off the Food and Drink content from Dangerous Thinking, and launched Meals on Blogs at www.mealsonblogs.com.
Meals on Blogs has been going for a few weeks now, and the content works a lot better away from Dangerous Thinking’s business focus.
Please have a look and tell [...]

God, I sound grumpy

Looking at one or two of my recent posts, I think I’m sounding like a candidate for that TV programme, Grumpy Old Men.
Is it desirable to rant publicly, I wonder?

Why am I getting ping spam from ittoolbox.com?

It’s quite normal to have DT spammed by porn, gambling and dodgy affiliate sites, but today I’ve had two ping spams form ittoolbox.com, a legitimate-looking site.
Are they being spoofed for some reason? Or do they really believe this is the way to do Internet marketing?
Maybe someone from ittoolbox will read this blog and tell me [...]

Dangerous Thinking needs some reorganization

This blog has been around for some time now. As I think I’ve said before, its focus has shifted as my business, technology and personal focuses have shifted.
I’m currently looking at the categories and thinking that they’re no longer representative of where I am. But what should I do, go in for a weekend’s solid [...]

Getting out of the swing of things and GTD

I’ve apologised more than once for the thinness of Dangerous Thinking posts recently.
The sheer busyness of life has overridden the introspection needed for blogging - along with the ‘no time to fire up SharpReader’ syndrome (Rosam, D Journal of Dangerous Thinking, 2004).
But I also think I’ve found another way to fill the odd corners [...]
